I Don’t Just Talk About Performance. I’ve Engineered It.

Fred Martinez is a Peak Performance Engineer who helps executives, entrepreneurs, and professional athletes eliminate mental interference, make clear decisions, and perform with confidence under pressure.

Short Bio

Fred Martinez is a Peak Performance Engineer who helps executives, entrepreneurs, and professional athletes eliminate mental interference, make clear decisions, and perform with confidence under pressure.

Drawing on over 30 years of experience as an aerospace engineer—building guidance systems for aircraft, rockets, satellites, and defense systems—and decades competing as an elite athlete, Fred combines engineering systems thinking, mindset rewiring, and real-world performance experience to create repeatable, high-stakes performance results.

His proprietary F.R.E.D. Framework—Focus, Resilience, Energy, and Drive— is a structured system designed to help individuals eliminate overthinking, regain clarity, and execute at their highest level when it matters most.

A former Division I track and field athlete at New Mexico State University, Fred is also a USA Masters Weightlifting National Record Holder, an AAU National and World Record Holder, a Masters World Cup competitor, and a Pan American medalist representing Team USA.

Fred’s work sits at the intersection of engineering precision, elite performance, and human behavior— helping high performers operate at levels they have never reached before.

My Story

My journey began with challenges that required me to approach learning and performance differently. I grew up with learning disabilities that affected how I processed language and numbers, which required me to develop structured ways to understand and retain information.

When I entered college, I was academically ineligible as a freshman due to a low ACT score— despite graduating high school with a B average. I could not compete or train with the track team, and I had to meet strict academic requirements to earn another opportunity.

During that time, I developed systems to break down complexity into manageable parts, recognize patterns, and create repeatable methods for learning and execution. Those systems became the foundation for how I approach performance.

I earned my way back and went on to become a Division I track and field athlete at New Mexico State University. I later earned an engineering degree and built a career designing guidance systems for aircraft, rockets, satellites, and defense systems.

I continued to apply these principles at higher levels of performance—competing in Olympic weightlifting at the Masters level, becoming a national and world record holder, and representing Team USA at the World Cup and Pan American competitions.

I am also an international award-winning best-selling author, sharing principles that help individuals eliminate limitations and perform at their highest level.

What began as a method to overcome learning challenges evolved into a structured system for engineering performance under pressure.

“Performance is not given. It is engineered.”

What I Discovered

High performers don’t break down because they lack skill.

They break down because pressure disrupts their internal guidance system— creating mental interference, self-doubt, and overthinking at the exact moment clear execution matters most.

In high-stakes environments, this shows up as hesitation, second-guessing, loss of clarity, and inconsistent performance.

  • Overthinking critical decisions
  • Hesitation under pressure
  • Loss of confidence in key moments
  • Inconsistent execution despite high capability

Most people try to solve this with motivation, mindset hacks, or pushing harder.

But motivation does not fix a disrupted system.

The solution is not more effort—it’s engineering a system that works under pressure.

What I Do

I help executives, entrepreneurs, and professional athletes engineer their internal guidance system so they can think clearly, make critical decisions with confidence, and perform under pressure.

My approach combines engineering systems thinking, elite athletic discipline, and rewiring the mindset and internal operating system for high-stakes performance.

Engineering Systems Thinking

Identify the inputs, patterns, and breakdowns affecting performance, then build a system that produces consistent execution.

Elite Athletic Discipline

Apply the structure, resilience, and preparation required to perform when the pressure is real and the outcome matters.

Mindset Rewiring

Eliminate mental interference, self-doubt, and overthinking by strengthening the internal operating system behind performance.

I don’t teach motivation. I engineer performance.

The F.R.E.D. Framework

My approach to performance is built on a structured system designed to eliminate mental interference and optimize execution under pressure.

The F.R.E.D. Framework is a repeatable method that strengthens the internal guidance system required for high-stakes performance.

F

Focus

Eliminate distractions and mental noise to maintain clarity on what matters most.

R

Resilience

Maintain control and composure under pressure without breaking down.

E

Energy

Optimize physical and mental energy to sustain performance at a high level.

D

Drive

Execute with consistency, discipline, and intention regardless of conditions.

This is not motivation. This is a system for performance.

Who I Work With

I work with individuals who operate in high-stakes environments where clarity, decision-making, and execution matter.

Executives

Leaders responsible for critical decisions who need clarity, control, and consistent execution under pressure.

Entrepreneurs

High performers navigating uncertainty who need to eliminate overthinking and operate with focus and direction.

Professional Athletes

Competitors who need to perform at their highest level when it matters most, without hesitation or mental interference.

If you perform under pressure, this is for you.

My Philosophy

  • Discipline beats motivation
  • Systems beat willpower
  • Clarity beats emotion
  • Execution beats intention

Performance is not something you hope for—it’s something you build.

When your internal system is aligned, you think clearly, act decisively, and perform at a higher level regardless of pressure.

“Don’t say why me. Say try me.”

When you engineer yourself, everything changes.

Engineer Your Next Level

If you are ready to eliminate mental interference, make clearer decisions, and perform with confidence under pressure, it is time to build a stronger internal guidance system.

Whether you are looking for a keynote speaker, a workshop for your team, or private coaching to improve performance, I help high performers operate at a higher level when it matters most.

Don’t ask why me. Try me.
